Pastor…
Today when you rise,
Do not rise for the job—
The job of a calling—
Rise for your Lord,
Your brother,
Your God.
Know not obligation,
Know not duty,
Know no condemnation.
Know Him alone,
Your face in His,
His thoughts in yours.
Wait for the fire,
Wait for the peace;
Only then, rise.
Rise where He rises,
Let go where He lets go.
Be the One
To those
Who do not yet know—
The hand that holds,
Not the one that scolds
Or condemns,
But loves.
Let us see Him clear—
In you, simply real,
Without mask,
Without pretense,
Rich in flavor,
Full of joy.
The fruit of life
On living trees,
A running spring
To all who yield
As you did long ago.
Start there—
At the feet of Jesus.
